The Ten Commandments were given to drive man to Jesus Christ. They show man that s/he is not perfect and s/he cannot keep them but God can. They open the eyes of man to see Jesus Christ and that s/he needs Jesus Christ not the laws.
The laws (the Ten Commandments) cannot save at all. No man will enter in the kingdom of heaven through or by obeying the Ten Commandments but only by believing and having great faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to heaven and there is no other way apart from Him. I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).
Heaven is a kingdom for the children of Sarah not children of Hagar. It is for those who are free not those under slavery as you have seen in the allegory of Abraham and his two wives. Sarah’s children cannot live in Jerusalem with the children of Hagar. Gal 4:30: Nevertheless what said the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free-woman.
Jesus Christ is the only person who fulfilled and fulfills the Ten Commandments not man. Man needs Jesus Christ to fulfill the Ten Commandments not Him fighting and struggling to fulfill them. He does not need the Ten Commandments to keep them but man needs Jesus Christ to keep the Ten Commandments.
Jesus is God and He is the only answer to obeying, keeping and fulfilling the Ten Commandments not man. All the Ten Commandments point to God and to fulfill them we need God not them. They are a shadow pointing to Jesus Christ. Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come.
The laws are like a school master holding the office of the master. When the master comes, we no longer need the school master. The master is Jesus Christ. Gal 3:24-25: Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Christians must not be overshadowed and overwhelm by the laws. They must move from holding a shadow, from the cross, to grace; Jesus Christ. Some people are driven by the law to the cross then they stick on the cross instead of moving beyond the cross. Others after reaching the cross, they want to carry the laws to grace (Christianity) but they end up being nowhere.
You cannot mix grace and the law because they are totally different. Let’s keep ourselves away from the laws and stick to the grace which Jesus bought. He bought it with an expensive price on the cross for you and me to be free and enter into eternity.
Jesus is the end of the law and salvation is by grace through faith and not by the law. When the bible talks of faith, it refers to great faith, not weak (little faith) or no faith as explained in the three levels of faith. God is pleased by spiritual men not carnal or as seen in the three types of men.
In an eye opener to Christians, you have seen that the law is for the unbelievers (those not born again) not those born again. To have dominion over sin, you have to be under grace not under the law. The law has effects and short comings and the purpose of Jesus death was to clean out all these for us; you and me.
Be blessed.
