The two witnesses are ready to come on earth. Who are they and when will they be on earth?
After Apostle John measured the third temple, told to leave the outer court for it is given to the gentiles, the revelation of two witnesses was then given unto him
Rev 11:1-3: And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses
The time the two witnesses come on earth, the third temple will already be build and this is in the 7 year great tribulation period.
The outer court of the third temple is given to gentiles for 42 months (3 ½ years) which is the first 3 ½ years of the great tribulation period.
The Two Witnesses
Rev 11:3: And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth
The two witnesses will prophecy for 1,260 days which equals to about 3 ½ years (1260 days = 3.45 years).
The same time the two witnesses will be prophesying is the same time the gentiles will tread underfoot the outer court of the temple = 3 ½ years. This is in the first 3 ½ years of the 7 year great tribulation period. Therefore the two witnesses will be on earth prophesying in the first 3 ½ years of the 7 years great tribulation period.
The first 3 ½ years is when Antichrist will be a man of peace conquering the world after Middle East peace treaty. Antichrist transforms to the real devil he is after being wounded and miraculously healed (Rev 13:3) and this is at the end of the first 3 ½ years.
The two witnesses will be clothed in sackcloth (Rev 11:3). Today’s world people and even Christians look down upon and ignores people who seem not to have made it in life according to world standards reason many will not recognize the two witnesses. It is the same way many cannot recognize the true Jesus Christ servants but running after wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Many people have been called the Two Witnesses even men in this GRACE age called the Two Witnesses. But Biblically, who are the two witnesses?
Who are the Two Witnesses?
One of the Two Witnesses clearly mentioned and prophesied to come in the Bible is Elijah.
Malachi prophesied the coming of Elijah before the dreadful day of the Lord (the Armageddon battle when Jesus Christ Judges)
Mal 4:5: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD
Jesus prophesied that Elijah is to come
Mt 11:14: And if you will receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come
Even the disciples asked him and Jesus told them Elijah shall come first
Mt 17:10-11: And his disciples asked him, saying, ‘Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come?’ And Jesus answered and said unto them, ‘Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things’
Elijah is the Tishbite, the prophet who did not die but was taken to heaven by a chariot of fire
2 Kings 2:11: And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven
There is only one Elijah the prophet, the Tishbite, who was taken to heaven by chariot of fire and today he is in heaven – I have seen him. See the great cloud of witnesses
If the Spirit of God which worked with Elijah is in a person today, that person is not Elijah the prophet taken to heaven by a chariot of fire.
If we look at the plagues which the two witnesses will strike the earth with, Elijah the Prophet is revealed. The plagues they will strike earth with revealing Elijah the prophet are;
1. Fire proceed out of his mouth devouring his enemies and killing men
Rev 11:5: And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed
In the Bible, it’s only Elijah who spoke and fire come from heaven as seen in Mount Carmel contest with Baal prophets
1Kings 18:36-38: And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, ‘LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again’. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
We also see this when Elijah spoke and fire come down from heaven killing men in 2 Kings 1
2 King 1:10: And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty’.
2. Kill men
Rev 11:5: And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed
In the Bible, it’s only Elijah who had power and authority to kill men instantly by word of the mouth. See 2 Kings 1.
If he called fire from heaven to come consume you, it did instantly (2 Kings 1). If he said you die, you surely died instantly.
3. Shut heavens that no rain fall
In the Bible, it’s only Elijah who shut heaven that no rain fell
1Kings 17:1: And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, ‘As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word’.
During his time of prophecy in the great tribulation period, Elijah will shut heaven that no rain will fall for 3 ½ years (3 ½ years is the days of their prophecy).
Rev 11:6: These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy
During the 3 ½ years of their prophecy, it will not rain equaling to drought equaling to the black horse of apocalypse. See the 4 horses of Apocalypse.
Elijah the Tishbite is the only God servant in the Bible who could speak and fire proceed out of his mouth devouring his enemies and killing men, shut heavens that no rain fell and he will be on earth during the first 3 ½ years of great tribulation period dressed in sackcloth killing men by fire from heaven as often as he desires and shutting heaven that no rain falls.
Though there are people with the power which worked with Elijah, I am yet to see a person with the full power which worked with Elijah; they cannot speak and fire come from heaven killing humans, cannot kill a human being instantly by a word of mouth and they cannot shut heaven that no rain falls – they have limited power.
Who is the other witness?
Some people say it is Enoch because he did not die. But I deny.
The second witness is Moses.
In the time of the two witness prophesy we see them strike earth with plagues as they wish (Rev 11:6) and the plagues reveal Moses.
How do the plagues reveal Moses as one of the two witnesses?
In the Bible, it only through Moses that plagues came on earth to the Egyptians and one of the plagues was water turning into blood.
Ex 7:20: And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
During the time of the two witnesses we see one of the plague is water turning into blood revealing Moses.
Rev 11:6 … and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
The question is; which are ‘all plagues’ talked in the previous mentioned verse Rev 11:6?
God sending plagues to Egypt through Moses to deliver Israel from Pharaoh and the Egyptian was a sneak preview of how God will deal with the earth during the great tribulation period to ultimately deliver Israel from Satan and the world rising to wipe them out.
‘All plagues’ mentioned in Rev 11:6 refer to all plagues through Moses seen in Egypt. Moses will strike the earth with all plagues seen in Egypt during the great tribulation period as often as he desires.
One more thing clearly reveals Elijah and Moses as the two witnesses – the transfiguration of Jesus
The transfiguration of Jesus
During Jesus transfiguration, two people appeared talking to Him, Moses and Elijah.
Mt 17:1-3: And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves, and was transfigured before them: and His face shone as the sun, and His raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with Him.
Moses and Elijah are the two olive trees and two lampstands standing before the God of earth
Rev 11:4: These are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth
Who is the God of earth? Jesus Christ.
And during Jesus transfiguration we see the two olive trees and the two lampstands, Moses and Elijah, standing before the God of earth (Jesus Christ). Moses is a olive tree and a lampstand so is Elijah thus two olive trees and two lampstands.
After they finish their testimony, which is at the end of the first 3 ½ year, Antichrist will receive power from Satan, make war against the two witnesses killing them
Rev 11:7: And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Antichrist receives power from Satan at the end of the first 3 ½ years of the 7 years tribulation period when he is wounded and miraculously healed (Rev 13:3).
The entire world will celebrate the killing of the two witnesses and they will not allow their bodies to be buried
Rev 11:9-10: And they of the people and tribes and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not allow their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
After 3 ½ days of their bodies lying dead and people celebrating, breath of God will entire them, they will stand on their feet, be called and ascend to heaven in a cloud.
Rev 11:11-12: And after three-and-a-half days, the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, ‘Come up hither’. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Same hour they ascend to heaven, earthquake upon earth follows, a tenth of the city fell and 7, 000 people are killed
Rev 11:13: And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were afraid, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
The two witnesses will not come to the gentiles but only to the Jews but their plagues will be worldwide. Time of gentiles is now; grace time. Immediately after rapture of the church, gentile times will end and God’s focus will go only to the Jews – it will be time for God to minister to Jews and save them all. Time for gentiles salvation is now or-else your own blood saves you or you perish.
Accept Jesus Christ now
The blood He shed on the cross is sufficient to wash your sins away
The price He paid on the cross is sufficient for your salvation
His GRACE is sufficient
Come unto Him the way you are – He will wash your sins away, cloth you with the robe of righteousness and the garment of salvation

Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand
