Pergamos church is one of the 7 churches of revelation. The 7 churches of revelation represent you and me – which church are you among the 7?

These are people who dwell in Satan dwellings but they stand and hold fast to Jesus Christ
Rev 2:13: I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s seat is: and you hold fast my name, and has not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
They have seen people persecuted and martyred for Christ’s sake but they have not denied Jesus Christ
But Jesus has these against them.
1. They have people who hold the doctrine of Balaam
You have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam (Rev 2:14)
Doctrine of Balaam teaches the following;
- to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel
- Eat things sacrificed to idols
- Commit sexual immorality
… because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication (Rev 2:14)
There are people whose work is to put stumbling blocks to true Bride of Christ.
Others are like Balaam ready to take money and worldly things to speak against or do evil to others.
The doctrine of Balaam also involves prosperity preaching – people preaching another gospel because of or for money and worldly riches.
Do away with any person preaching prosperity gospel, eating things sacrificed to idols and committing sexual immorality. Stop entertaining or condoning them.
2. They have those who hold the doctrine of Nicolaitans
Rev 2:15: So has you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate
Earlier in the church of Ephesus we have seen what the doctrine of Nicolaitans is. Doctrine of Nicolaitans includes;
- Eating things sacrificed to idols
- Sexual immorality
- Spiritual authority
Spiritual authority, having a spiritual mother or father is part of the doctrine of Nicolaitans not Jesus Christ gospel. See spiritual father and mother false gospel. And today this false gospel of Nicolaitans is conquering many.
Stop condoning or entertaining people with the doctrine of Nicolaitans. Do away with them.
Jesus tells you to repent for the above things or else He will come to you quickly and fight those with doctrine of Balaam and doctrine of Nicolaitans with the Sword.
Rev 2:16: Repent; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth
When Jesus says repent or else I come to you quickly, He is not coming to reward you but to damn you because you repented not.
Pergamos church represents people with bad company (having evil/wicked people with them).
One of the things God warns us of is bad company.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
Show me your friends (company) and I will tell you who you are.
1 Cor 5:11: But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a sexual immorality, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not even eat with search a person.
1 Cor 5:13 … Therefore put away from yourselves the evil person
Psalms 1:1-4: Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driven away.
Many of us are not blessed because we are a company of evil people
Proverb 13:20: He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
Look at the company of people you have and you will know if Jesus will come to judge or to reward you.
Do you expect God to clap for you being a company of people in sexual immorality, prosperity gospel, exercising spiritual authority, wicked and evil people? Stop being blind and ignorant.
Always choose good company of godly people otherwise stay with no company – it’s better to stay lonely than having a company of entire world and perish.
Jesus promises whoever hears what the Spirit says to the 7 churches and overcomes, will be given hidden manna to eat and have a new name which no one knows.
Rev 2:17: He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.
Jesus Christ makes promises to the person who hears and overcomes the things spoken by the spirit to the 7 churches – you must overcome the things spoken against you.
