Its Faith That Moves Mountains Not Fasting

Its Faith that moves mountains not fasting
Its Faith that moves mountains not fasting

It’s faith that moves mountains not fasting. It’s about your faith in Jesus Christ not how much you can fast.

Mt 21: 20-22 Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer’. Read also Mt 17:20, Mk 11:22-25

There are 3 levels of faith;

  1. Faithless (No faith)
  2. Little Faith (doubters & lukewarm)
  3. Great Faith

When Jesus said, ‘if you have faith and do not doubt’ in above verse, He is talking of great faith not little faith (doubters) nor faithless.

The believe Jesus is speaking of saying, ‘if you believe’ is believe that doubts not. See the 2 types of believe

It’s Faith That Moves Mountains Not Fasting

The gospel of Jesus Christ is all about our faith in Him. Salvation, righteousness, holiness, repentance, resurrection, inheriting heaven, rapture, blessings, etc, is all about our faith in Jesus Christ.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not about what you can do, how much you can do, our works, hard work, proving ourselves to God, etc, but it’s all about the finished work of the Cross (John 19:30)

Because the work was finished on the cross, our work remains only to truly believe, have great faith and seek the Finisher, Jesus Christ, with all our heart soul mind strength (Mk 12:30, Lk 10:27).

There is nothing we receive from God because of our works, because of fasting, etc, but it’s all because of our faith in Jesus Christ

Mt 21:22 ‘and whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith’

Mk 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours

Reason He said,

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

And why do we receive when we pray?

1 John 3:22 and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do what pleases him

Keeping His commandments and doing what pleases Him is obedience a fruit of great faith in Himobedience is the test of faith

For the babies, there is a difference between prayer and fasting – fasting is not prayer and prayer is not fasting. A man can fast without praying and can pray without fasting.

In the Scripture (Bible), people did not fast to receive what they asked God or to move mountains but they fasted to draw themselves closer to God, to mend or perfect their personal relationship with God.

It’s for this reason you see God sending prophets to people, nations, etc, to call them to repentance because repentance is mending your relationship with God.

Moreover in the New Testament, the disciples of Jesus never fasted when they were with Jesus. And about this Jesus said,

Jesus replied, ‘How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while He is with them? But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast’ (Mk 9:15)

In other words Jesus is saying, if there is a distance between you and Me, if your personal relationship with Me is not right, fast. The disciples fasted when Jesus ascended, they fasted not to receive but for their relationship with Jesus.

When Jesus told His disciples that this demon cannot go unless by fasting and prayer (Mt 17:21, Mk 9:29), see that in the entire Scripture His disciples never fasted to cast out a demon. They could not cast it out then because they were not powered. When powered, you do not fast to cast out a demon – it’s the Power that does it not you. It’s all about your level of Spiritual authority (dominion) over a demon (later teaching).

There is nowhere in the gospel of Jesus Christ we are taught to fast to receive whatsoever we ask or fast to move mountains – that is a concocted doctrine, and this is what many are doing.

One thing Jesus taught me when I come to Him was about fasting. He took me to the kingdom of darkness, all religions of the world, etc, and I saw how these people fast – they fast more than those in Christ Jesus. And I asked, what is the difference between them and those in Christ Jesus? It’s when He revealed to me that His disciples never fasted when with Him.

I realized that it is not about fasting, about beating and cutting our bodies, about physically killing the flesh, worshipping like Baal worshippers, about our works, trying to prove ourselves to God, etc, but it’s all about freedom, the Paid Price on the Cross, Grace and faith in Jesus Christ, and this is the difference between those in Christ Jesus and those not and all religions including Christianity as a religion.

When you fast it does not mean you will receive what you ask or God will answer or a mountain will move. When David fasted for his son, God hearkened not (2 Sam 15-18).

Today people believe it’s only by fasting they will receive whatsoever they ask God – it is a lie. Receiving what we ask is by faith not fasting.

They believe they will move mountains by fasting – that is not even Scriptural; a corrupted doctrine

They think by fasting they please God – God is only pleased by His Son Jesus (Mt 3:17) and we only please God by our Faith in His Son

Fasting is not faith – fasting has nothing to do with our faith in Jesus Christ. A faithless man can fast. Devil worshipers fast, Pharisees and brood of vipers fast. All religions of the world fast.

Faith comes only by hearing the word of God. Faith does not come by fasting neither is fasting a prove of your faith.

Fasting never grows nor builds your faith in Jesus Christ

It’s the level of your faith revealed in your obedience that shouts loud how close your relationship with Christ Jesus is not fasting

Fasting has become a demon, a religion, a chain that has chained people to bondage and instead of them building their faith, which is more important than fasting, they build fasting. See importances of faith

Today churches teach people fasting instead of helping them grow their faith to great faith, not to fast when asking God for anything because we do not receive because we have fasted but because of our great faith in Him.

It’s only faith that moves a mountain not fasting

Grow/build your faith by hearing the word of God – stop fasting to receive or to move mountains

Fast only to draw yourself closer to Jesus Christ or when He tells you to otherwise eat and drink – God wants a healthy temple; your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

When you die fasting, that is suicide – there is no difference between you and Judas Iscariot

Fasting is not a prerequisite to salvation

Jesus is coming
