If you focus on the heavenly, the earthly (worldly) will be added unto you. But if you focus on the earthly, the heavenly is not added unto you.
Mt 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you
If you focus on the heavenly, the earthly follows you but if you focus on the earthly, the heavenly does not follow you.
Earth and heaven do not go/work together until heaven comes first to earth otherwise not.
What is the difference between the earthly (worldly) and the heavenly?
Worldly things are the physical things we see on earth and the things our flesh (bodies) yearns for. They include houses, lands, money, cars, electronics, planes, food, cloths, etc
Heavenly things are things (majority) not seen with physical eyes but their manifestations are clearly seen. They include Angels, heaven, gifts of the Holy Spirit, baptism with the Holy Spirit, fruits of the Holy Spirit, speaking with tongues, prophecy, God’s knowledge and wisdom etc.
A person after worldly things is called carnal (carnally minded), fleshly or worldly.
Focus on the Heavenly, the Earthly Will Be Added Unto You
There are 2 kinds of people calling themselves Christians today;
- Those seeking Jesus Christ for worldly things
- Those seeking Jesus Christ for heavenly things
Although God created the earth, He allowed Satan to rule it. Although everything on earth is Gods’, it is ruled by Satan.
John 12:31: Now is the judgment of this world, when Satan, the ruler of this world will be cast out
If you look at Jesus temptation, Satan offered Him the entire world.
Mt 4:8-9: Again, the devil took Him up into an exceeding high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. And said unto Him, ‘All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me’.
Satan rules the world; he has authority on earth and on earthly things.
There is only one place Satan does not rule and that is heaven. Heavenly things are beyond Satan; they are purely God’s but worldly things are compromised.
Many people seeking for world riches fall to Satan worship. Why?
Because for God to add unto you what is in the world, you must first seek the kingdom of God but if you first seek worldly things which are ruled by Satan, Satan comes to give you and you will worship him knowingly or unknowingly.
God cannot add unto you what is of the world without first seeking His kingdom
If you seek worldly things, you cannot have heavenly things.
1 John 2:15: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Worldly things do not come with heavenly things but heavenly things come with worldly things.
If a person seeks only heavenly things, worldly things are added unto him/her – worldly things follow you. But by the time the earthly things are added unto you by God, you will have no desire in them.
Look at Abraham.
The Bible tells us Abraham sojourned and looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Heb 11:9-10: By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. For he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Abraham lived His entire life seeking heaven – the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Abraham was so blessed with worldly things because he was focused on heaven; seeking heaven.
How can a person rich with worldly riches like Abraham sojourn on earth looking for heaven? Because his focus was on heaven not earth.
Show me one person rich with worldly things sojourning and looking for heaven and you will see how God has added earthly things unto him/her. Many are looking for money and worldly riches.
Look at Solomon
Solomon did not ask God for worldly things but instead they were added to him for asking God heavenly things.
It is a principle in the kingdom of heaven; for worldly things to be added unto you, you must first seek the kingdom of heaven.
If you ask God for heavenly things, He will add worldly things unto you.
What are many people, even you seeking? What are you asking God for in prayers? Is it heavenly or worldly?
Today many people are seeking for worldly things in God not the kingdom of God – not for heavenly things.
You pray ask God for money instead of asking God to baptize you with the Holy Spirit because when the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you, He will come with worldly things unto to you.
You ask God for a car, a house, worldly things instead of asking God to reveal the kingdom of heaven to you because when He does so, the kingdom of heaven will come with worldly things unto you.
A rich man is not who has worldly things but who has heavenly things. A rich man is that man who has Jesus Christ dwelling in Him; who has the kingdom of heaven.
By WORD God calls things to existence. When you have the kingdom of God in you, God calls everything you need into existence for you, reason you are so rich.
Which is better; to have a car or to speak in tongues? To have money or to have power of the Holy Spirit? To have Jesus Christ dreams and visions or to be famous?
Many people have chosen the first which is worldly not the second which is heavenly.
The worldly things you are seeking are what worldly people are seeking therefore what is the difference between you and worldly people?
God knows you need them but for Him to add them to you, you must first seek His kingdom.
Mt 6:32: (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
God gives worldly things and Satan gives too but heavenly things are only God’s.
Therefore how do you know that person’s worldly things are from Satan not God?
If a person has worldly things but lacks heavenly things, those things are from Satan
If a person is not baptized with the Holy Spirit but is worldly rich, those riches are from Satan. See how to know if you are baptized with the Holy Spirit
If a person lacks the fruits of the Holy Spirit but the person is worldly rich, those riches are not from God
God only gives to those who seek His kingdom and His kingdom comes to them with worldly things.
If you seek worldly things not the kingdom of God, the person who comes to give you is Satan and you will worship him knowingly or unknowingly.
For many are worshiping/have worshiped Satan unknowingly.
Yes! You can work hard on earth and get these worldly things but remember they are not from God. They are product of your work being evil because if you are truly in God, God will not allow you to prosper being evil.
David, Job, Jeremiah asked God why He allows evil/wicked people to prosper. ‘For the day of destruction’.
Job:21:30: That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction
Do not tell me a person is blessed by God because s/he has worldly things because God allows evil people to prosper for their day of destruction. He allows Satan and his people to prosper for their day of destruction.
Therefore being worldly rich is not a sign of God blessings.
What are you seeking in life; heavenly or worldly?
If you are seeking world, you will indeed perish unless you repent
Mk 8:36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches and lust of these things choke the word of God and the end is hell
Mk 4:19: And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it become unfruitful
It is for this reason it is very hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 19:24: And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God
Can a rich man with worldly things enter into the kingdom of God?
Yes! If you focus on the kingdom of heaven and the cares of this world, deceitful of riches and lusts of other things do not enter you – like Abraham and Job.
It’s all about your focus – what you set your mind on; is your mind on earth or on heaven?
Col 3:2: Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth
When you mediate, what do you meditate on; on earthly things or heavenly? These clearly reveals to you where you mind is; on earth or on heaven.
If you are seeking the kingdom of heaven, you will indeed inherit it and the worldly things world people are seeking for will be added unto you.
Why seek worldly perishable things which rust, moths eat away instead of seeking heavenly things which are not perishable?
For the world and all in it will pass away but heavenly things will not. You brought nothing on this world and you will carry nothing.
1 Tm 6:7: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
I have not seen a righteous man forsaken or begging for bread
Psalms 37:25: I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread
If you are indeed righteous first seeking the kingdom of heaven, why are you begging for bread? Because you are not indeed seeking first the kingdom of heaven.
