The Church is Christ’s; it is not of a human being. No human being can claim ownership of the church. No person can own or posses the church.
The church is not a building, house, place or tent. A church is a person in whom the Holy Spirit is dwelling in; living born-again human beings.
Church is Christ’s not of a Human Being
It is Jesus who purchased the church on the cross with His own blood
Acts 20:28: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He has purchased with His own blood.
It is Jesus who built the church.
Mt 16:18: That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The church is Christ’s
‘I will build my church’ (Mt 16:18)
Rom 16:16: The churches of Christ salute you.
Jesus Christ is God who owns the church
Acts 20:28: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He has purchased with his own blood.
1 Tim 3:5: (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
In Hebrews we are told that the church is of the firstborn
Heb 12:23: To the general assembly and church of the firstborn
The firstborn is Jesus Christ
Col 1:13, 15, 18: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
The church is subject only to Christ
Eph 5:24: Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ

The first thing a human being does when s/he gets something is to re-name it. Name is a proof of ownership. A name points to the owner.
When a person gets a dog or a cat, the first thing is to name it. When a person gets a child, the first thing is to name the child.
When a person steals the church from Jesus Christ, the first thing is to re-name it.
The name of Jesus Christ church is the church of Jesus Christ, Christ’s church, Church of God or Jesus Christ’s church. The name points to the owner.
How the church was named in early times
In early times, people could not take away the ownership of the church from the name; the church remained church of Christ or church of God. What they did was to add the location or place of the church.
Acts 13:1: Now there were in the church that was at Antioch
1 Cor 1:2: Unto the church of God which is at Corinth
! Cor 16:19: The churches of Asia
2 Cor 8:1: Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia
Gal 1:2: And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
Gal 1:22: And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
Rev 1:4: John to the seven churches which are in Asia
Rev 2:1: Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus
Rev 2:8: And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna
We can thus say, the church in America, Church in Kenya, Church in England, Church in Mexico, etc.
When God speaks to His servants the prophets, He names the church in the same manner. He says,
‘Go say to the church in America. Go say to the church in Kenya, God say to the church in Nigeria. Go say to the church in this and that place’.
When a church is defined according to its location, this does not take the ownership from Jesus Christ.
Today, people have stolen the church from Jesus Christ and named it according to their will.
The name of Jesus Christ church is the church of Jesus Christ, Christ’s church, Church of God or Jesus Christ’s church.
Any other name of a church apart from the above mentioned names are of a stolen church.
If a church is named, Joshua’s church – that church belongs to Joshua not Jesus Christ
If a church is named Joel’s church – that church belongs to Joel not Jesus Christ
If a church is named Jubilee church – that church belongs to Jubilee not Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ did not send any human being to go start re-naming His church
Apostle Paul says,
Rom 16:5: Likewise greet the church that is in their house
The church was inside their house. The house was not the church. The church had no other name but the church.
Why give a name to the church inside a house? Why name a house making it the church? Since the church belongs to Christ shouldn’t the church be so called?
The church has been stolen from Christ and given other names. Church has been individualized; ownership has changed.
See the house you attend or so-called churches around you and see their names. Many of them have been stolen from Christ and re-named.
And since the churches have been stolen from Jesus Christ and renamed meaning ownership has changed, it is time the church is used for selfish gains.
It is not a surprise to me seeing people in a church owned by an individual being used for selfish gain. The church belongs to that person; you are there to be used. The person makes and breaks the rules.
It is in this churches where the owners have become ‘small gods’ to their followers. All what the blind followers say and do is to please the god; the church owner. They worship him/her.
Even if the church owner is using them and doing things against the Bible, they will defend him/her and try to prove with their own wisdom and knowledge how the church owner is correct. They do not wake up to the reality that the Bible has the authoritative final say, not your church leader.
Many protestant church leaders today are gods
It is for this reason God came to me and said, ‘the glory in many churches today is not coming to me’
Because churches have been personalized, you will hear people say, ‘Joel Osteen’s church, Kiuna’s church, Sam’s church, Ted’s church, etc’. This defines a church owned by an individual not Jesus Christ.
Each God servant is given a specific ministry by God; specific assignment. The ministry is individuals defining the specific work for the servant to carry out but the church remains Christ’s.
Do not name a church according to your ministry.
Some servants are sent to heal (healing ministry) – they have opened house calling them ‘healing church’. It is a mistake. God did not tell them to do that.
Others are sent to deliver humanity – they have opened houses and called them ‘deliverance church’. It is a mistake. God did not send you to do that.
If you are called, seek God and you will realize that you can carry out your assignment on earth and finish it without opening a house and calling it a church. You can carry out your assignment exactly the same way Jesus did.
