There are the fulfilled weeks of Daniel 70 weeks which are the 69 weeks of Daniel 70 weeks.
NB: this is a direct continuation from the seventy weeks of Daniel.
Fulfilled weeks of Daniel 70 weeks
Angel Gabriel gave Daniel 70 weeks prophecy with very clear timings.
After angel Gabriel declared to Daniel the plans God has within 490 years (Dan 9:24), he gave the correct timings of events culminating to the fulfillment of God’s plan within the seventy weeks.
Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Several key words to note from this verse;
- From the going forth of the commandment to restoring and building Jerusalem
- Unto the coming of Messiah the Prince
When was the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem?
March 14 445 BC, King Artaxerxes gave out a decree commanding Jews to leave Babylon, go back Israel to restore and build the city. This took place during the times of prophet Nehemiah (Read Nehemiah) and Nehemiah gave out the exact times (Nehemiah 2:1).

The restoring and building of Jerusalem
In the prophecy, Angel Gabriel first mentions seven weeks, then He adds threescore and two weeks (see that clearly from the above verse Dan 9:25).
The first seven weeks defines the period it was to take from the giving out of the commandment to restoring and building Jerusalem. Then the last threescore and two weeks define the period from the restoring and building of Jerusalem to the coming of Messiah the Prince.
Therefore as prophesied, from the going forth of the commandment to restoring and building Jerusalem was to take seven weeks. This equals to 49 years (7 weeks x 7).
It took the Israelites 49 years to restore and build the city of Jerusalem from the time the command was given by King Artaxerxes (research history books and see this reality). This was exactly as prophesied by angel Gabriel.
Then from going forth of the commandment which went forth in March 14 445 BC to restoring and building Jerusalem unto the coming of Messiah the Prince was to take Seven weeks, threescore and two weeks as prophesied.
This equals to;
Seven weeks = 7 weeks
Threescore = 60 weeks
Two weeks = 2 weeks
= 69 weeks
So, 69 weeks = 69 x 7 years = 483 years
When did Messiah the Prince came?
As prophesied, it was to take 438 years from the giving out of the commandment unto the coming of Messiah the Prince.
Using the Jewish calendar of 360 days per year and multiplying by 483 years you get 173880 days.
That is;
483 years x 360 days = 173880 days
Thus from the giving out of the command which was in March 14 445 BC plus 173880 days you get the exact day when Messiah the Prince was to come.
This was on April 6th 32 AD.
On April 6th 32 AD, Jesus came in Jerusalem riding on a donkey to shouts of ‘Hosanna’. It was the only day Jesus permitted his followers to publicly declare Him the King of Israel fulfilling Daniel’s seventy weeks prophecy to the dot.
Messiah the Prince as used in Daniel denotes that He was coming as the anointed son of King but not yet crowned by the King to be King.
Jesus wept as He was coming into the city because the people shouted but they did not know that it was their day (Day of salvation). They shouted because of the works He had done not because of what He was entering Jerusalem to do.
They did not know Bible prophecy and because of their ignorance, Jesus held them accountable.
Lk 19:41-44: And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If you had known, even thou, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side. And shall lay you even with the ground, and thy children within you; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because you knew not the time of you visitation.
Messiah cut off
From the prophecy, Messiah was to be cut off after the 69 weeks. Cut off means killed, destroyed or literally executed.
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself (Dan 9:26).
After Jesus entered Jerusalem as Messiah the Prince, He fulfilled the 69 weeks to the comma and dot.
Days in Jerusalem, He was hanged on the cross not for Himself because He had no sin but made sin for our sins so we might be made righteous through Him.
The people accepted Jesus as their Messiah as He entered Jerusalem but after that day, they grew cold on Him accepting Him not. They rejected Him and all shouted ‘crucify Him’ and He was hanged on the cross.
69 weeks of Daniel 70 weeks fulfilled
The first 69 weeks of Daniel 70 weeks prophecy were fulfilled with the cutting off of Messiah (Jesus).
But the history of Israel and Jerusalem is determined to be 70 weeks so there is one week (7 years) remaining.
