There are 3 errors leading to hell which Christians should keep away from and watch not to fall into. They take Christians away from God’s love and totally lead us to damnation .
These errors are;
Jude 1:11: Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.
- Cain’s way
- Balaam’s error
- Korah’s error
Errors leading to hell
1. Cain’s way
Gen 4:1-5: And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering. But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Gen 4:6-10: And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? And why is you countenance fallen? If you does well, shall you not be accepted? and if you does not well, sin lies at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shall rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? And he said, What have you done? the voice of your brother’s blood cries unto me from the ground.
Cain’s error is anger (wroth). Anger made Cain kill his brother. We should not be angry with our brothers and sisters. Being angry is killing and if you are angry with any person, you are killing and disobeying the command; you shall not kill.
Being angry is a true sign of lack of love in you. Love forgives and love is not angry. Anger also destroys morals (countenance). If you are angry with a person, what you will do will totally affect and destroy your morals. Let us love to love and keep our anger in check.
2. Balaam’s error
Balaam accepted gold and silver to disobey God and go against His command. Read in Numbers chapter 22-24. Love of money, not being content will always make us go against God’s command and sin. Many men are doing whatever they can to earn money even if it means disobeying God. Every man must know God’s advice on money riches and wealth and let us keep ourselves from falling to Balaam’s error.
3. Korah’s error
Korah wanted prominence and power. He was envious of Moses and wanted to be like and even more than Mosses. Read his story in Numbers chapter 16.
God warns us of envy and wanting what our neighbors have, even more; coveting. No coveting should be heard in us Christians. We are also warned of wanting power, wanting to have power, be in power. Many people do crazy things in search of and to attain power.
Let us be careful and watch that these three errors are not found in us or fall into them. Watch out and pray.
Be blessed.
